Josep Royo is an established spanish contemporary artist that worked along with Joan Miro in an abstract style.

He is a well-known tapestry designer and was trained at the Escuela Catalana de Tapiz, in San Cugat, Spain. In 1964 he helped found the group GALLM (Grup d’Art Lletres I Música), and in the 70s moved to Tarragona, Spain where he opened his own tapestry studio.
